The Land Advocate Society of Western Canada is a non-profit group dedicated to giving more than 100,000 landowners the facts on oil and gas development. The Society publishes a newsletter, The Land Advocate, four times a year. This newsletter documents good and bad practices in the oil patch; exposes shoddy regulations; opposes property devaluation; promotes efficient energy use; and advocates for the conservation of watersheds and sustainable communities. While government and industry routinely ask, "What we can get away with on the land?" our Society poses a different question: "What does nature require of us here?"
